If I Were to Die

If I were to die,
Would you cry for me?
Would you miss me?
No, you probably won't.

Would you remember me?
Would you pray for me?
Would you criticize your choices?
No, you probably won't.

Would you be at my funeral?
Would you give me flowers?
Would you say I loved you?
No, you probably won't.

If I were to die,
You wouldn't notice I was gone.
You wouldn't miss me.
See, this is what you'd do.

You wouldn't shed a tear.
You wouldn't call me friend.
You wouldn't think about me.
See, this is what you'd do.

You wouldn't be mad or sad.
You wouldn't see me in your dreams.
You wouldn't try to find me.
See, this is what you'd do.

So if I were to die today would someone even miss me?

Happy Girl/Sad Girl

I see a girl.
They light up the world with their smile
They bring peace to a room with their joyful eyes
They have the most beautiful laugh that's contagious
They have a personality everyone envies
They are extremely tough and have no fear
They are full of life
They have the perfect image
They are full of innocence
They have goals and dreams all figured out

I see a girl.
They have a frown full of despair
They have tears of sadness
They scream their lungs out in unwanted anger
They are full of insecurities and shame
They are wake and live in fear
They are in pain and want to die
They have lots of regrets and mistakes 
They have tremendous guilt
They are lost in confusion

Now would you have ever guessed that these two girls were actually both one and the same?

The first is what everyone saw when she was out in public.
The second was what I only got to see.

This girl lives with a mask over face, hiding something that people would not ever imagine.

This girl is one of my closest friends.

Father Policeman

My father is a policeman...
I mean my father was a policeman.

He had died in the line of duty,
surrounded by strangers,
and away from his family.

He's known as a hero,
a cop who was brave and courageous.
And not as a lone lover.

He was loved by many,  
loved for being a policeman. 
But not loved for the man he truly was.

So what if he was a great policeman,
he was an excellent father figure as well.

So what if he was called a hero on TV,
he was already a hero to those close to him.

So what if strangers look up to him,
his loved ones wont see him anymore.

So what if his grave is covered in flowers,
man considered him their flower of sunshine when he was alive.

Everyone dies in one form or another,
but until you lose someone dear to your heart,
then by all means keep talking like you knew the person how died.
